Landie hanging out with friend and owner of Early Girl, Christy!
Christy Reisz took the idea of backyard farming, combined it with her love of cooking fresh, flowers and hard work, and gave us Early Girl. She brings beauty and joy to Beaufort and beyond with her stunning stems and tasty treats that she plants and nurtures from dirt to plate.
Christy’s philosophy as a farmer is as pure and as good as her joyous spirit and rowdy laugh. Everything at Early Girl Farm is organically grown and treated with care and respect for the earth. It starts with the soil, “the most important part” of the garden. Adding to her policy of no pesticides and no waste, Christy plays music to her plants to get them in the growth groove.
Wandering the mixed rows of blooms and greens is a delight to the senses: from lush lettuces and jewel-toned carrots to aromatic herbs and mircrogreens that beg to be touched and tasted, Early Girl farm runs the garden gamut. The Flowers are an incredible array as well, including some to eat! Add cornflower blue bachelor buttons to your salad or decorate your cake with these brilliant beauties. Buy a bouquet of blooms from Christy, or more for a special event. Watch her cook at The Olde Beaufort Farmers’ Market… her talents never quit, and neither does she!
