Living in this area you get all the benefits of small town life—the peace and serenity that come from being away from the crazy pace of city life, the comfort of a close-knit community, and the security of safe neighborhoods. Here we have a twist …we are lucky enough to know our neighbors, yet we get an influx of visitors from all over the world. Many are tourists who flock here during the warm months to visit our pristine beaches and famous crystal-clear waters, or boaters who use our docks as a pit stop on their way to other destinations. Sometimes, once they get a taste of our neighborhoods’ history and charm...they stay. The allure of our quaint coastal towns is strong.
One of the people we snagged is photographer Marc Montocchio. Marc’s love of the sea was born in his native Durban, South Africa. As a young boy he marveled at his grandfather’s fishing gear and says his tackle box was a “treasure trove” and an inspiration. Marc ...

With the donations, the MCKRE team was lucky enough to get to play elf at our local Walmart, shopping for everything from cuddly blankets and building blocks for the babies, to soccer balls and tents for the teens.
To witness the community coming together with a shared purpose in their hearts and minds was uplifting and satisfying... a goal of the Toys for Tots mission is to unite ...

Your house is your home, your refuge, your sanctuary. Where you sleep, eat and …live! You see it every day, so to say it’s familiar might be an understatement. When trying to make changes and enhance your home’s appearance and allure, try looking at it from an outsider’s perspective. Take in what’s already there and what you aren’t going to change—like the roof, the windows or the walkway—when you pick your palette. For example, if you have a lot of stonework, you might choose pearl grey for the house, cream for the trim and slate blue for accents like the front door or shutters.
Location is another factor to consider when choosing your exterior paint colors. You can evoke feelings of the woods and nature with mossy greens, soft browns and grays. Or go coastal and elicit feelings of the seaside with warm ocean breezes and sand beneath your feet. For this look, use varying shades ...
